Bongbong Marcos was asked about the movie ‘Ant-Man’
Presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos explained the connection of the Marvel movie Ant-Man in his decision to run.
Last 2016, Marcos was one of the vice-presidential aspirants but he lost and Vice President Leni Robredo was proclaimed as the winner. In the 2022 elections, Marcos and Robredo once again are vying for the same position – the president.
During an interview on Boy Abunda Talk Channel on YouTube, Liza Marcos, the wife of BBM, shared that they were watching Ant-Man when her husband suddenly came up with a decision that he will run for the highest position in the government.
When write-ups about this circulated online, Bongbong Marcos received criticism as he was supposed to have drawn his inspiration to be a president from the movie about a “thief who eventually became a hero.”
It is known among the critics of BBM that he and his family are being called “magnanakaw”. With what his wife said in the interview, bashing about this once again surfaced on social media.
Based on a recent report from News5, the presidential candidate of the UniTeam explained that he can’t remember the particular scene in Ant-Man that made him decide to run because his focus was not on the movie.
“Hindi ko naalala ‘yun dahil malayo and isip ko eh. Hindi lang naman nung panahon na nanonood kami ng sine nung nag-iisip ako,” he said. The former Senator said that the thought of running for president has been in his mind. For months, he was already thinking about what he can do and what the real situation is.
“Ano bang problema natin sa Pilipinas? All of these things, ‘yun lagi ang nssa isip ko,” he said. Bongbong Marcos reiterated that if he will be asked about Ant-Man, he said that he does not know what happened in the movie.
