MMDA Issues Citation Ticket to Truck Drivers Passing at EDSA
MMDA personnel apprehended the alleged hard-headed truck drivers who were passing along EDSA amid truck ban.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority is an agency of the Republic of the Philippines implementing the planning, monitoring and coordinative functions along the road concerning purely local matters.
The agency covers the cities of Manila, Quezon City, Caloocan, Pasay, Mandaluyong, Makati, Pasig, Marikina, Muntinlupa, Las Piñas, Parañaque, Valenzuela, Malabon, Taguig, Navotas and San Juan and the municipality of Pateros.
The Facebook page “Gadget Addict” has shared the video footage of MMDA officers apprehending bus drivers and violators passing along EDSA amid truck ban. The video garnered various reactions from the online community.
In the video, MMDA chief Edison “Bong” Nebrija together with some traffic enforcers apprehended several truck drivers passing along EDSA. Trucks and some buses were prohibited at EDSA to prevent massive traffic congestion.
Nebrija issues citation tickets to the traffic violators and lectured them. He told them that violating the traffic rules and regulation cause cause massive traffic congestion in the area and may also cause road accident.
“Ayaw niyo kasing sumunod ang gusto niyong ang gusto niyong gawin diba? Akala niyo walang batas sa inyo e, ang titigas ng ulo niyo e, anong hindi meron na nga kayong loading/unloading dun ayaw niyo pang sundin,” Nebrija reiterated.
