19-Year-Old Student Dies After Victimized by Hit-And-Run Incident in Quezon City
A 19-year-old student in Quezon City passed away due to a hit-and-run incident while traveling along the road using his bicycle.
Road accident has been one of the major traffic problems in different countries all around the world including the Philippines. It usually causes traffic congestions or injuries to involved individuals. Reckless motorists are mostly involved in vehicular accidents.
The traffic authorities are implementing stricter rules and regulations to prevent such incidents but accidents still happen due to reckless motorists.
Recently, the CCTV footage in Barangay Sacred Heart, Quezon City has caught the hit-and-run incident including a cyclist and a vehicle driver. The video immediately circulates online and elicits reactions from the netizens.
The poor victim who has been identified as Mark Joseph Crisostomo is cycling along the road when an orange car accidentally hits him at the intersection in Scout Torillo Street. The incident sent the young man pummeling and unconscious on the ground.
Unfortunately, the car driver run away and escaped instead of checking the young man’s condition. Crisostomo has been rushed to the hospital for immediate medical attention and treatment but he passed away after arriving at the hospital.
Malou Crisostomo, the victim’s mom expressed her grief due to the incident and urged the suspect to surrender to the authorities.
“Patay na ‘yung anak ko sa walang katuturan. Sana naman ‘yung nag-hit-and-run sa kaniya, magpakita naman siya, Makonsensiya ka,” Malou reiterated.
Mark Joseph is a scholar and member of Taekwondo team in their school. The police authorities will also watch the other available CCTV footages in the area to determine the license plate of the suspect’s vehicle.
