Mayor Isko Moreno Holds Campaign Events in Mindanao w/out Doc Willie Ong
ISKO MORENO – The camp of the Manila Mayor revealed why they decided not to bring Doc Willie Ong during their campaign events in Mindanao.
The election candidates are doubling their efforts in reaching more people to campaign for the upcoming poll. Visibly, there is no hesitation even to visiting the areas that are bailiwicks of their fellow presidential bets. According to Mayor Isko Moreno, he is visiting the Filipinos and it does not matter if it is his fellow presidential bet’s bailiwick.
Recently, the Manila City Mayor visited Maguindanao, Sultan Kudarat, and South Cotabato in Mindanao. His campaign activities which included motorcades took three (3) days. He was with some of the candidates in his senate slate.
However, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno was not with his running-mate, Aksyon Demokratiko‘s vice-presidential bet Doc Willie Ong, during his 3-day campaign sorties in Mindanao. The Manila Mayor is visibly paired by some of his supporters with vice-presidential bet and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.
Recently, the camp of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno revealed the reason why Doc Willie Ong was not with them during their 3-day campaign sorties in Mindanao. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Manila Mayor’s campaign manager, Lito Banayo, admitted that it was his call and his decision that the cardiologist won’t be with them during the campaign in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao, and South Cotabato.
According to Banayo, his decision was in the pursuit to prevent placing Ong in an “awkward situation”. He stressed that many of the supporters of Mayor Isko in the areas they visited in Mindanao are pairing the Manila Mayor with Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.
The campaign manager of Mayor Isko shared that they send an advance team prior to their campaign trips usually four or five days before their trip. Based on the report, he claimed that the advance team they sent called him and informed him that the streamers in the places they’ll visit are endorsing Isko-Sara.
Banayo expressed that he called Doc Willie about it as he does not want him to be placed in an embarrassing situation. As for the part of Mayor Isko, the Manila Mayor maintains his stand that he is “Isko-Doc Willie” no matter what.
