Doc Willie Ong Personal Background

Born on October 24, 1963 in Tondo, Manila, Doc Willie is a graduate of Xavier School in elementary. In 2013, he even received the Xavier Award for Exemplary Alumni. He enrolled at the University of the Philippines Diliman for his pre-medical course. He finished with a degree in Botany. For his medical degree, he took it at De La Salle Health Science Institute.

When he was in his fourth year in college, he met a fellow medical student, Anna Liza, who became his girlfriend. They married after six months since they met.

Doc Willie Ong Medicinal Career

After graduating at the De La Salle Health Science Institute, Doc Willie had his internal medicine residency at Manila Doctors Hospital. He was the chief resident doctor then. He did not stop giving his best as he further pursued a Cardiology fellowship at the University of the Philippines – Philippine General Hospital. During his clerkship, he started writing a Medicine Blue Book and it was published in 1995 – he was a resident doctor then.

Currently, social media is one of the best platforms Doc Willie used in reaching more people to help them with their health concerns.

Doc Willie Ong Political Career

Doc Willie Ong will run for vice president in the Election 2022. He will be the running-mate of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno who recently confirmed his presidential bid. It is not the first time of the celebrity doctor to take a chance in the political arena as he also ran for senator in 2019 but he lost. Many political analysts that he is an excellent choice for a national post as he can help in dealing with the pandemic now.
