VP Leni Robredo’s Presidential Bid Backed by over 200 Former UN Officers, Employees & Retirees

FORMER UN OFFICERS – More than 200 Filipino ex-officers and employees of the United Nations (UN) support the presidential bid of Vice President Leni Robredo.

Ten (10) candidates for president are left on the official ballot for the May 2022 Election. One of them and the only woman candidate is Vice President Leni Robredo. She is running as an independent candidate in the upcoming poll.

Several groups of professionals have pledged their support to the Vice President in the presidential race. Many of them even hosted activities to campaign for her. She’s vocal that she’s overwhelmed by the support she gets from the people.

Groups of lawyers, doctors, and accountants are among those that expressed support to Vice Pres. Leni Robredo‘s presidential bid. Several Catholic leaders are also vocal in their support for her in the upcoming election.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, more than 200 Filipino former UN officers, employees, and retirees also support the presidential bid of Vice Pres. Leni Robredo. They believe that she has the capacity to lead the country for “transformative change” among the presidential bets.

In a statement, the former UN officers, employees, and retirees that support Vice Pres. Leni Robredo in the presidential election said that the presence of the big groups of volunteers and the Pink movement composing different groups of people “prove that the time for change has come”.

The group cited that the programs of Vice Pres. Robredo covers the most pressing issues in the Philippines including food security, justice, and the healthcare system. They also stressed that her track record proves she can work on worthwhile projects despite budget limitations.

It is no secret to the public that the Office of the Vice President has the smallest budget and they rely on private donations. Meanwhile, they managed to maintain being the recipient of the highest rating of the Commission on Audit (COA) for a few years now.
