Manny Pacquiao will focus on eradicating corruption if he wins the presidential race
Senator Manny Pacquiao said that if he wins in the 2022 elections, he aims to eradicate 70 percent of corruption in the Philippines and he promised to do this within 2 to 3 years of his presidency.
For several instances, Pacquiao has reiterated his stand when it comes to corruption. Just recently, he made another statement about this. In an interview, based on the report from Inquirer, the Senator was asked how long it will take for him to solve the corruption problem in the Philippines.
“’Pag ako naupo, bigyan nyo ako ng dalawang taon. Two to three years malaki ang pagbabago. Siguro nasa mga 70% na ang nasugpo natin na korapsyon,” Sen. Manny Pacquiao said as he stressed that eradicating corruption will become his main focus.
He also said that his team has a good plan for this and that he is excited about this. “May maganda akong plano kasi—kaya lang ‘di ko pwedeng sabihin at napag-usapan namin ni Bro. Eddie Villanueva na ‘yung idea niya,” the presidential aspirant said.
With this, Pacquiao said that he hopes the religious leader will accept the offer to be the anti-corruption czar. “Kaya sabi ko, nawa’y tanggapin nya ang alok ko sa kanyang ilalagay ko siyang anti-corruption czar para pamunuan nya yung anti-corruption at maipakulong natin yung mga dapat ipakulong,” Pacquiao said.
Meanwhile, in a recent interview also, Sen. Manny Pacquiao denied that he is backing out of the presidential race. Rumors surfaced that one of the presidential candidates will withdraw this coming March. The boxer-turned-politician said that he will continue to fight as he is not someone who is weak and will just turn his back from what he has started.
