Is Manny Pacquiao quitting the presidential race?
Rumor has it that a presidential aspirant will soon quit from the race and this received a reaction from Senator Manny Pacquiao.
Three months before Election Day, presidential candidates, along with their teams, have intensified their campaign activities in different provinces in the Philippines.
However, based on the report from One News, rumors surfaced this week about a presidential candidate who is planning to end the journey to presidency. Allegedly, the reason for quitting was funding and logistical issues.
In an interview, Senator Manny Pacquiao stressed that he is not quitting the presidential race. “I am not a weak leader. I am not that weak of a person. I’m a fighter,” the boxer-turned-politician said.
He also said that those who are saying that he is turning his back are those who are quitting. “Just so everyone knows, Manny Pacquiao is always up for a fight for life and what’s right,” the Senator said.
He also stressed that his wife and family are rallying behind him in this fight because they know that he is sincere with his intention to serve his fellow Filipinos.
Pacquiao was asked about the money he is spending for his campaign and he said that he is not spending a huge bulk of money. “We don’t spend that much because I have no intention to recover what I spent when I’m already in office. Those who are spending so much, going full throttle, all of them have vested interests. They’re intending to take advantage of the state coffers,” the Senator said.
Meanwhile, in one of his recent interviews, Manny Pacquiao said that he wants to regulate the e-Sabong or the online cockfighting game that has become a popular game among Filipinos amid the pandemic.
