Robin Padilla clarified the past interview that he had about his daughter
Actor Robin Padilla, who is running for Senator in the 2022 elections, denied that he validated the alleged cheating of Kapamilya actor Aljur Abrenica on his daughter Kapuso actress Kylie Padilla.
It can be recalled that comedian-talent manager Ogie Diaz interviewed Robin on his YouTube channel. During that interview, the action star revealed that Kylie has broken up with Aljur.
During a recent interview on ANC’s Headstart of seasoned journalist Karen Davila, she asked Robin Padilla about the statement he had when he talked about Aljur Abrenica.
Robin previously said that it is in man’s nature to cheat. Because of this, he received bashing for allegedly taking the side of his daughter’s estranged husband. In his statement, the action star said that Aljur should’ve just converted to Islam. With this, Karen said that Robin showed understanding of the situation of Aljur and asked, “binabawi mo ba?”
The seasoned actor said that he is not retracting what he said but stressed that those who are making issues out of this were those who did not watch the whole interview.
He further explained that in their religion, cheating can be committed even though a man is just looking at a woman with desire. When Robin was asked to clarify what he meant when he understood Aljur’s “alleged cheating”, the father of Kylie said that it is impossible for men not to have these kinds of thoughts towards other women.
Robin Padilla also explained his statement “mag-Muslim ka.” He said that it was from his intention to cite himself as an example. “Noong nag-Muslim ako, nabago ko yung sarili ko,” he said. The actor also stressed that he did not say anything about “polygamy”.
