PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Tuesday (February 1)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with rainshowers over some parts of the country.

On Tuesday (February 1, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon will affect the country’s weather condition.

The Amihan is expected to bring cloudy weather condition with rains over Bicol Region and the provinces of northern Samar, eastern Samar, Samar, provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora and Samar Provinces.

The northeast monsoon would bring partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated light rains over Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Apayao, Kalinga, Ifugao, Mt. Province, Abra, Benguet, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Occidental Mindoro and Palawan including Kalayaan Group of Islands.

The localized thunderstorms will also bring similar weather condition over the rest of Visayas as well as the remaining parts of the country.

“Sa kasalukuyan itong northeast monsoon ang umiiral sa bahagi ng Luzon kung saan asahan natin yung bahagyang malamig na panahon and also ‘yung mga pag-ulan sa silangang bahagi ng Luzon,” PAGASA weather specialist Grace Castañeda said.

The weather agency advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures during moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

The coastal water condition over Luzon and Visayas will be moderate to rough. Mindanao will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
