DOH Gives Update on PH Situation amid the COVID-19 Fight
DOH – The Department of Health spoke on the COVID-19 risk status in the Philippines now amid the ongoing fight versus the pandemic.
The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly affected the Philippines and several other nations across the globe. In the country, the pandemic really dragged the economy down with the closure of businesses and the hampered operation of those that are allowed to operate in abidance to the protocols.
For more than a year, the country is under community quarantine measures in the move to fight the spread of the virus. Currently, the alert level system is being observed and the measure depends on the COVID-19 situation in a specified area.
The whole Metro Manila which was previously under Alert Level 3 following the post-holiday surge in the cases is now under Alert Level 2. Kids are now allowed to go outdoors and the Department of Transportation (DOTr) has lifted the “No Vaccine, No Ride” policy.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Department of Health (DOH) recently said that the Philippines is now under a moderate risk level for COVID-19. The coronavirus cases have dropped and the nation recently recorded its lowest daily tally since January 4.
According to the report, on February 2, 2022, DOH confirmed 7,661 new cases of COVID-19. The total number of active cases in the Philippines now is 160,297. The Health Department further said that the cases in several areas in Luzon are on a downtrend now while the cases in the Visayas are plateauing. However, some regions in Mindanao continue to record high cases of coronavirus.
The national government continues to encourage the people to get vaccinated. It is set to start the vaccination of kids five (5) to eleven (11) years old this month.
