Cheslie Kryst Expresses Fears Turning 30 Before She Died

Here’s what Cheslie Kryst expressed in an essay before jumping to death.

CHESLIE KRYST – Former Miss USA titleholder Cheslie Kryst has died at 30 and this is her fear about the thought of turning 30 years old.

In a previous articleExtra correspondent and former Miss USA Cheslie Kryst expired at 30 after jumping off from the 60-story Orion building where she is a resident. She was last spotted on a terrace on the 29th floor at around 7, her body was found lifeless at 350 W. 42nd Street in New York City after leaping to her death. She left a note on her computer before jumping off the high-rise condominium building.

Her family pled for privacy as they face a great loss. In an official statement they have issued, they are sure she embodied love as she served other people through being an attorney, a beauty queen, and a correspondent. They added as they confirmed her passing, “But most importantly, as a daughter, sister, friend, mentor and colleague – we know her impact will live on.”

Several beauty queens, people from the pageant community, and the Miss Universe organization remembered her. They were shocked over her sudden passing but at the other end, they are happy to have witnessed the light and kindness she always brings with her when she was still alive.

But before she died, the late beauty queen have actually expressed some apprehensions and fears she had in her mind about reaching the age of 30. When she turned 30, she wrote a heartbreaking essay for Allure titled A Pageant Queen Reflects on Turning 30. In this post, she started it with an idea of how society has never been kind to old people, especially to women.

It said:

“Each time I say, “I’m turning 30,” I cringe a little. Sometimes I can successfully mask this uncomfortable response with excitement; other times, my enthusiasm feels hollow, like bad acting. Society has never been kind to those growing old, especially women.”

She furthered in her writing that turning 30 feels like a “cold reminder” to her that she is running out of time which, to her, is infuriating. She also left questions and hanging thoughts about winning and chasing another win. Being at such a phase in her life where she has achieved and accomplished a lot that impressed a lot of people lead her to realize the most important questions of “why”.

“Why earn more achievements just to collect another win? Why pursue another plaque or medal or line item on my résumé if it’s for vanity’s sake, rather than out of passion? Why work so hard to capture the dreams I’ve been taught by society to want when I continue to find only emptiness?”

At the end of her essay, she expressed that entering her 30th year is searching for “joy and purpose on my own terms — and that feels like my own sweet victory.”
