MISS UNIVERSE PHILIPPINES 2022 – The Miss Universe Philippines Organization announced the screening schedule of the new set of aspirants.

“Another year, another set of queens! The most prestigious pageant in the country will start its screening in February 2022. Get your profiles and papers ready, aspiring queens,” says the caption of the new post of the Miss Universe Philippines Organization. They’ve just announced the screening schedule for the new set of beauty queen aspirants who would want to join the local pageant.

This February will be the start of the screening for this year’s edition. They also added in their post that “something phenomenal” is brewing this coming April. The announcement was just that and no further details have been revealed. It’s also still unclear if they will be following the format of the pageant as how it’s been done last year. To recall, the pageant underwent several significant changes.

Last year, it can be recalled that the minimum height requirement for aspiring candidates has been removed. The age requirement has also been revised. A candidate must be 18 years of age and not over 28 years of age at the time of the pageant.

They have accepted an initial of 100 candidates and based on their performances in several challenges, they were narrowed down to the final 30. The Top 30 candidates were the ones who appeared on the grand coronation night.

The reigning titleholder is Beatrice Luigi Gomez of Cebu City. In the international pageant, she finished her journey as part of the Top 5, the first time after a couple of years that the country got included again in the said list. For this year, who will ever win is the third representative under the MUP organization headed by Miss Universe 2011 third runner-up Shamcey Supsup and beauty queen maker Jonas Gaffud.

Here are some other requirements:

  • Must be a Filipino citizen
  • A Philippine passport holder
  • No height requirement
  • Female, never been married nor had borne children
