Being an alternate actor for Dingdong Dantes, Dion Ignacio shared this
Kapuso actor Dion Ignacio shared the reason why he accepted the offer to be the “ka-dobol” of Primetime King Dingdong Dantes.
Dingdong played two characters in his new series I Can See You: AlterNate with Beauty Gonzalez. In order to do this smoothly, he needed another actor to play the other actor while he is acting the other.
Even though his back is the only visible part of his body in this series, Dion said that he is happy to have this chance. It is because he was really looking forward to working with the Primetime King, based on the article in GMA Entertainment.
“Sa ‘kin okay naman, proud nga ako e kasi nagkaroon ako ng chance na makatrabaho si Kuya Dingdong dahil dito sa I Can See You: AlterNate kasi kung may bucket list ako, isa sa list ko ‘yung makatrabaho ko si Kuya Dingdong kasi talagang idol na idol ko siya noon pa man,” Dion Ignacio said.
He said that his main goal in this project was to support his fellow actors. Dion also said that he has to memorize the lines of the two male lead characters – Nate and Michael.
“Kahit hindi ako makita kasi ang goal ko masuportahan ‘yung artista na ka-eksena ko, si Beauty Gonzalez saka si Kuya Dingdong para maganda ‘yung reaksyon nila, maging natural,” he said.
Even though he was just “ka-dobol”, when the character is crying in the scene, he will also give the same emotion to make it realistic. Dion Ignacio, on the other hand, admitted that he felt nervous about his first stand-in dual role. He is thankful that their director, Dominic Zapata, as well as Dingdong Dantes, guided him.
Dion also shared that he told Dingdong that he hopes they will have a chance to work together again in the future and this time both of them will appear onscreen.
