Pacquiao said that Marcos should not get the vote of the Filipino people because the former Senator has “corruption issues”.

“May bahid ng corruption, may issue ng corruption. Alam mo naman ang corruption sa ating bansa eh. Talagang ‘yan ang dahilan kung bakit kami naghirap,” the boxer-turned-politician said.

Based on the report from GMA News Online, the camp of Marcos gave a reaction to this. Atty. Vic Rodriguez, the chief of staff and spokesman of Bongbong Marcos said, “Sometimes there are statements that are better left ignored.”

Pacquiao also said the same thing when asked about Manila Mayor Isko Moreno. However, the actor-turned-politician brushed off the negative comment from the Senator. The Mayor acknowledged the honor that Pacquiao has brought to the country because of his success in the field of boxing.

“Hindi natin makakalimutan ang karangalan na binigay sa ating bansa ni Sen. Manny Pacquiao sa mundo ng boksing. Maraming Salamat sa dangal na binigay ninyo sa mundo ng boxing. May God bless you!” Mayor Isko said.

Previously, when the Manila Mayor was asked the same question, he said that voters should not consider Bongbong Marcos and VP Leni Robredo because, for him, they will just seek vengeance against the other camp if one of them will win.
