Policemen Chase Suspects After Stealing Motorcycle in Road 10, Tondo, Manila
A CCTV camera caught how the brave policemen chased two suspects along Road 10 in Tondo, Manila after stealing a motorcycle.
The motorcycle owner sought help from MPD DSOU implementing the Comelec Gun Ban in Barangay 101. According to Pmaj. Dave Garcia is about to go to work when two unidentified men took his motorcycle parked in front of his house.
The victim turned on in his motorcycle before heading to work. He get inside his house to take something but the suspects took his motorcycle. The cops immediately respond and chased the suspects along road 10.
The police authorities were able to corner the car napping suspects at Road 10 and was able to arrest one of the culprits. The cops arrested a man named Ian Mejido who was driving the motorcycle during that time.
According to Mejido, he thought that his colleague borrowed the motorcycle and drive it away from the area. His colleague was able to escape from the police officers during the chase. The authorities recovered a caliber .22 revolver from the suspect.
The suspect explained that the firearm was owned by his friend.
According to the police investigation, Mejido has police records related to illegal drugs and physical injuries. The suspect will face multiple charges such as carjacking, illegal possession of firearms, and violation of Comelec gun ban.
