Among those charged were the chief of police, its deputy, on-case, duty officer of the PNP IMEG to conduct the verification, and police who ordered the two detainees. PNP IMEG spokesperson PLt. Mary Jean Cuevas confirmed that the information received was true that the two “Persons Under Police Custody” (PUPC) were released.
Genablazo Jr., who is accused of breaching the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002,” and Pedro Garote, who is accused of harassing people even at the Matnog market, are both facing charges. Genablazo has been in and out of jail for the past five months, according to Cuevas.
Garote, on the other hand, has been in and out of jail for the past three months whenever the police demand that he demonstrate irregularities. While the Police Regional Office 5 performed a separate investigation, the report discovered that one of the detainees was utilized in illicit behavior.
If they are found guilty of major misbehavior, they will be discharged from the military. Cuevas went on to say that the operation was part of the PNP’s internal cleansing effort to restore public confidence in the force.
