PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Friday (January 21)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that a low-pressure area may enter the country’s vicinity by weekend.

On Friday (January 22, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. A low-pressure is being monitored outside the country.

PAGASA reported that the low-pressure area located at 1,855 kilometers east southeast of Mindanao may enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) over the weekend. It has a slim chance of developing into a storm.

The weather system has no direct impact on the country yet.

The shear line will be affecting the eastern section of Southern Luzon while Northeast Monsoon would affect the rest of Luzon.

The localized thunderstorms and the Northeast Monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers over Visayas, Occidental Mindoro and Palawan including Kalayaan Islands.

Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will also experience similar weather condition.

The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Visayas and Mindanao.

Amihan will bring cloudy weather condition with rains over the provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Apayao, Kalinga, Ifugao, Mt. Province, Abra, Benguet, and Aurora.

The weather agency advised the public to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to at times heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over northern Luzon as well as the remaining parts of the country will be moderate to rough.
