Viral Motorist Arrested After Fleeing Gas Station in Pampanga Without Paying

Police arrested a motorist who went viral on social media after he was caught fleeing from a gas station in Pampanga without paying.

After evading payment of filling at a gas station in Mexico, Pampanga, CCTV footage of a driver riding a white sports utility vehicle (SUV) became viral on social media. According to the report, the suspect refueled his petrol tank with a total value of P3,000.

The motorist instantly departed once the gas station worker filled the car and closed the gas tank top. The gas station employee files a complaint against the driver. After that, authorities carried out an effort to apprehend the culprit.

Elements of the PNP Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) Pampanga successfully apprehended the individual in accordance with Republic Act 4136 (Land Transportation and Traffic Code) and Presidential Decree 96. During a normal anti-theft sweep the reported car, a white Toyota Fortuner, was noticed and stopped down by PNP-HPG for an initial infraction of reckless driving, excessively tinted motor vehicle, and failing to use face masks.

The driver was recognized as Arvin De Luna, a resident of Angeles City, while his passenger was identified as Diane Briola, a resident of Urdaneta, Pangasinan, by HPG officers, based on the article of VISOR. The subject car is registered to Bryan Guevara and was allegedly hired by De Luna at the time of the arrest.

De Luna has been taken into jail by PHPT-Pampanga for further inquiry against RA 4136 (LTO Traffic Code of the Philippines) and EO No. 22-2021 in reference to RA 1132 (Violation of Health Protocol).  Similarly, the Mexico MPS will file an estafa complaint against the apprehended individual.
