After Odette left the Philippines in devastation, Kris Aquino teams up with various groups and people to help the victims of the affected areas.
KRIS AQUINO – Former actress and host Kris Aquino non-stop in helping the victims of Odette to survive despite a delicate health condition.
Typhoon Rai, locally named Odette has hit the country on 16 December 2021. The typhoon has brought destruction and left some of the most vulnerable communities in devastation. To recall, it initially made landfall in Siargao Island, the province of Surigao del Norte in the Caraga Region, and northern Mindanao. It gusts up to 270 km/h with maximum sustained winds of 195 km/h making it the strongest typhoon to enter the country for this year.
Its strength has damaged numerous shelters, livelihoods, agriculture, and infrastructure, greatly affecting Visayas and Mindanao. Odette is the 15th tropical cyclone for 2021 in the Philippines but on average, the country experiences 20 tropical cyclones in a year.
With the devastation and destruction that the strong typhoon has brought, famous personalities like Kris Aquino and Angel Locsin spearheaded several relief operations and donation drives to help people who are badly in need of help. Several politicians also visited the typhoon-stricken areas and donated huge amounts for the people and for rehabilitation.
Aquino shared in one of her IG posts that during this time of tragedy, Locsin was the one she would always team up with to reach the victims with their help. Despite her health condition, she still manages to help through her connections. She really wants to help and she’s the one calling people asking them how else she can be of help.
In another post, for transparency purposes, she also shared how politicians like presidential aspirants Leni Robredo and Manny Pacquiao extended their help. She was also communicating with Tito Sotto about the matter and revealed how Sara Duterte was also helping without being publicized.
She also stated in her post, “Thank you kay Mel sa patience nya dahil sinungitan ko na sya dahil sa kagustuhang makakuha ng contact persons. Salamat kay Alvin & Rochelle dahil sa dami rin ng coordination nila. Thank you Angel, Neil & Sen. Sonny for reminding me na iba kung makita na PERSONAL akong pumunta para maramdaman ang pagmamahal at pakikiisa sa mga pamilya na talagang nangangailangan ng tulong ngayon…”
