Leni Robredo Visits Typhoon Odette-Hit Bohol

Vice Pres. Leni Robredo Flies to Bohol Following Odette’s Onslaught

LENI ROBREDO – The Vice President flew to Bohol which was left with no electricity following the onslaught of Typhoon Odette.

A lot of preparations were done prior to the entry of Typhoon Odette or Typhoon Rai in the international name. Its strength was forecasted before it entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and it urged the authorities to really make massive preparations. Several families in flood-prone areas across the nation were encouraged to evacuate.

Several cities and municipalities where storm signals were raised also canceled work for the safety of the people. Rescue teams prepared for risky instances that might arise amid the onslaught of Odette. The typhoon left a lot of people homeless.

Most of the damaged houses were due to the strong winds and heavy rain that flew their roofs. Others were destroyed after uprooted trees fell on those houses. Many families lost their source of living.
