Kris Bernal shared things about her journey in the showbiz

Actress-vlogger Kris Bernal went emotional during a recent interview on Toni Talks when she shared what GMA bosses told her before.

Kris has been in the entertainment industry for more than a decade now. Her showbiz career started when she won in the Kapuso talent search StarStruck. Kris shared to Toni Gonzaga that it has always been her dream to be an “artista”.

At one point, she auditioned for Pinoy Big Brother, during the time when Kim Chiu won, but unfortunately, she was not included in the “cut off”. Luckily, a year after that, the door of GMA opened for her through the reality talent search. Since then, she has been working with the Kapuso network.

However, when her contract with GMA expired, she was not offered to renew it. In her vlog last August, she shared that when her contract ended, there was no negotiation that happened and so she decided to find another manager. In the said vlog, she stressed that she has no ill feelings towards her former home network.

During the recent interview on Toni’s YouTube channel, Kris said that she is still wondering why GMA did not renew her contract and this made her think that she is a failure.

At one point, she mentioned the bashing that she gets every time she is posting her figure. Kris said that she is just ignoring the mean comments as she loves how healthy and fit she is now.

Then, Kris Bernal revealed that her bosses before used to tell her to gain some weight. “Lagi lang din sinasabi sa akin na people like on top, let’s say my bosses or whatever na ‘magpataba ka,’” the actress shared while crying.

With this, she asked if her figure now is a hindrance to being an actress and this somehow made her think that the scarcity of the projects that she gets now is because of how her body looks.
