PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update For Saturday (December 18)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported Typhoon Odette is approaching Kalayaan Islands in Palawan and it is expected to leave PAR.

On Saturday (December 18, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update. Typhoon Odette will affect some parts of the country.

PAGASA reported that Typhoon Odette has been last spotted 240 kilometers west northwest of Puerto Princesa City. It has maximum sustained winds of 150 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 185 kph while moving west northwest at 15 kph.

Odette will bring heavy to torrential rains in Kalayaan Islands while moderate to heavy rains are expected over Palawan, Aurora, and the northern portion of Quezon including Polillo Islands.

Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Nueva Ecija, and the rest of Quezon will have light to moderate with at times heavy rains. Possible widespread flooding and landslides are expected in the affected areas.

Destructive typhoon-force winds are expected in areas under Tropical cyclone wind signal number 3. Moderate to heavy damage is expected in areas under TCWS no. 2 while TCWS no. 1 are expecting generally light to moderate damage to structures and vegetation.

The typhoon is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Saturday morning or afternoon.
