PAGASA: Tropical Storm’s Trough to Bring Cloudy to Rainy Weather Over Parts of PH

PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Tuesday (December 14)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the tropical storm’s trough to bring cloudy to rainy weather condition over some parts of the country.

On Tuesday (December 14, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The tropical storm’s trough will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that Tropical Storm Rai has been last spotted at 1,380 kilometers east of Mindanao. It has maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour with gustiness up to 105 kph. It is moving 30 kph at a northwestward direction.

Rai is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Tuesday evening. It will be renamed ‘Odette’ after entering the country’s vicinity and it may make a landfall in the vicinity of Caraga or Eastern Visayas on Thursday.

The trough of the tropical storm will affect some parts of the country. It may also reach typhoon category.

The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Ifugao, Mt. Province, Aurora, and Eastern Visayas.

Partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Central and Western Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, Occidental Mindoro, Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, and the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region and central Luzon.

The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather condition over the remaining parts of the country.

The weather agency advised the public to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon, Visayas, and the eastern section of Mindanao will be moderate to rough. The rest of Mindanao will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
