Several LGUs Declare Class Suspensions Due to Severe Tropical Storm Odette

WALANG PASOK – Several local government units have declared class suspensions in the following area due to Severe Tropical Storm Odette.

Severe Tropical Storm Odette is expected bring an inclement weather condition over some parts of the country after entering the Philippine Area of Responsibility. Heavy rains and strong winds may prevail over several parts of the archipelago.

Odette has been last spotted at 735 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. It has maximum sustained winds of 110 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 135 kph.

Class Suspensions

PAGASA has also raised Signal No. 1 in several provinces due to the effects of the weather disturbance. The public has been also advised to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods and landslides.

On Wednesday (December 15, 2021), several local government units have declared the suspension of classes in some areas due to Severe Tropical Storm Odette affecting the country’s weather condition.

The town of Monkayo in Davao de Oro has declared the cancellation of classes in all levels, public and private schools due to the inclement weather.
