Joey de Leon joined the Miss Universe fever
The pageant fans in the Philippines were so much alive as the 70th edition of the most prestigious beauty pageant in the world took place. Though Beatrice did not make it to the Top 3, Pinoys showed support and expressed pride for what she has achieved in the international pageant stage.
As part of the Top 5 finalists, the Filipina beauty queen was asked this question: “Given the ever-changing COVID situation, what is your opinion of mandating a universal vaccine passport?” This was from Iris Mittenaere who was hailed as Miss Universe 2016.
The answer of Beatrice to this was, “I believe that public health is everyone’s responsibility, and to mandate vaccine inoculation is necessary. If mandating vaccine passports would help us in regulating the rollouts of the vaccine, and mitigate the situation of the pandemic today, then I would agree on mandating the necessary passport of vaccination. Thank you.”
Joey de Leon, also known as the Henyo Master, shared his answer to this question through his Twitter post. “Kung ako sasagot dun sa question na natapat kay Philippines, i will say, “Well, I am for the Vaccination passport and I hope that our Department of Foreign Affairs and all the embassies will permit this to be used as a travel passport also!” the Eat Bulaga host said.
Netizens who commented on this tweet of the veteran comedian-host were amused. One said that it is indeed right to call him the Henyo Master while one netizen said that she loves this answer of the seasoned showbiz personality.
Meanwhile, aside from Beatrice Luigi Gomez, Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera was also a representative of the Philippines in the pageant as a judge.
Marian was handpicked by the Miss Universe Organization to be part of the selection committee for this year’s pageant. This stint of the wife of Dingdong Dantes also made the Pinoy pageant community proud. For Marian, this opportunity is something that brings honor to her.
What can you say about this?
