Isko Moreno Lashes Candidates Giving Money to Supporters to Join Their Events
Manila Mayor and presidential aspirant Francisco “Isko” Moreno has warned the political candidates that offer money to their supporters to join their events.
Moreno, in his speech during his visit to Malabon, warned against politicians vying for office in 2022 who supposedly pay in exchange for joining their motorcades. Moreno claims that some candidates pay P500 to each person who attends their sortie and P1,500 if they accompany the motorcade.
“May mga ginagawa sa Maynila na hinihikayat, sasali sa motorcade,” said Moreno.
“Sinasabihan natin ‘yung mga tao na mag-iingat sa mga pulitikong gastos ng gastos para magpa-rally. Ang bawi nun mas malaki ang interes,” he added.

On the other hand, the mayor boasted that he did not spend any money on his different visits. According to the presidential candidate, he already has organizers and sponsors for his events; all he has to do now is show up.
“Basta ako darating. Mag-organisa kayo, gumastos kayo, gumastos sila, basta ako pupunta kasi nag-aapply ako ng trabaho,” said the mayor.
Meanwhile, he disputed that the money they distributed in Nueva Ecija was used to buy votes. It is only a game to them, and the money they offer is the prize for their game.
It will be recalled that some netizens uploaded certain posts on social media about claimed compensation they receive in exchange for riding in a candidate’s motorcade. Former senator Bongbong Marcos’ camp and Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte’s camp are among those accused of crowding the caravans.
