Rebel Wilson Says Management Didn’t Approve of Weight Loss

REBEL WILSON – In 202, Rebel Wilson was killing it when it came to her weight loss and healthy lifestyle. However, her management apparently didn’t like that she was losing her signature look.

Typecasting in Hollywood has been a plague for actors who want to pursue and explore their creative reach. And, for Rebel Wilson, Hollywood type-casted her as the “funny fat girl”.

Sadly, her management also thought that way. With millions of dollars to her name for her iconic roles, her management asked her why she would want to “change”.

During an interview with BBC Breakfast, the Australian actor said:

I got a lot of push back from my own team, actually, here in Hollywood, when I said, ‘OK I’m going to do this year of health, I feel like I’m really going to physically transform and change my life’ and they were, like, ‘why? Why would you want to do that?

Following this, Wilson explained that she had no issues with her self-image. In fact, she was confident and loved her body for what it was.

However, she realized that there were looming “emotional eating behaviors” that she herself identified as unhealthy. “I did not need a tub of ice cream every night – that was me numbing my emotions by using food which wasn’t the healthiest thing“, she added.

Surely, there’s a movement that encourages people to love themselves no matter what their size is. But, there’s still a huge risk of developing health issues because of being overweight.

Wilson, recognizing this, wanted to share that it was “never too late to start improving yourself and trying to be the best version of you possible“.
