Robin Padilla Reacts After Criticized Due to Flipped Philippine Flag in His Photo
Action star and senatorial candidate Robin Padilla defends himself after being criticized online due to the flipped Philippine flag in his photo.
Robin shared a photo of himself kneeling kissing the ground on Facebook, a prostration that is done to worship, laud, and humble oneself in front of Allah. On television, the Philippine flag is displayed, with red on the left and blue on the right.

Blue is should on the left and red is on the right in the genuine waving as based on the previous article, blue symbolizes peace, truth, and justice and red symbolizes patriotism and valor. With that, the senatorial candidate has urged netizens not to criticize the placement of the Philippine flag in his back, claiming that it was his choice.
“Huwag niyo na po kwestiyunin ang pagkakaayos ko ng aking personal na bandila natin na baon ko sa aking paglalakbay. Personal ko po itong motibasyon sa sarili ko na pagkatapos magdasal ng fair ay mag-Lupang Hinirang sa ganyang pagkakaayos ng bandila.” Robin said in his Facebook post.
The actor went on to say that it is his daily inspiration so that he does not forget that he is fighting poverty, corruption, and colonization. The actor continued by saying that this is a method for him to reflect on the country’s struggle.
“Iyan po ang aking inspirasyon sa araw-araw upang hindi ko po makalimutan na ako ay nasa giyera laban sa kahirapan, korupsyon at kolonisasyon. Pansarili ko lamang po ito. Pagdating sa mga pampublikong pagtitipon o proyektong pampubliko, asul ang mando,” he said.
Despite the explanation, the actor received a barrage of harsh and hateful remarks on the internet. His remark garnered criticism from the internet community, who thought he was merely making a fuss to get attention.
