The Senatorial candidate confessed in an interview with One PH that he had a grievance towards a presidential contender because he was not invited to its senatorial slate. Roque explained that he was not included in the Senate ticket because he is the presidential spokesperson, which makes adoption harder.

“In fact, mayroon nga akong sama ng loob dyan sa ilang mga presidentiable, akalain ko ia-adopt nila ako pero ang sabi nila, ‘presidential spokesperson ka kasi kaya mahirap kang i-adopt’,” said Roque.

He said that only the Marcos campaign of presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. invited him. Other parties have not offered to adopt him or include him on their senate slate for the 2022 elections, he claims.

He went on to say that he was angry since he believed this presidential contender to be a friend. He went on to add that he was present when the alleged individual was in a difficult circumstance and stood up to defend them.

“Actually masama ang loob ko talaga doon sa isa kasi noong panahon na siya ay mahirap ang kalagayan, ako lang ang nagsalita para depensyahan siya. Ganyan ako talaga maging loyal sa ating mga kaibigan. Maski nag-iisa akong nagsasalita at lahat ng tao ay iniiwasan siya, ginawa ko yun,” Roque said.

Roque refused to reveal the name of the rumored candidate. Meanwhile, Roque is defending Bongbong Marcos from any human rights allegations leveled against him. He went on to say that when his father, the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr., declared martial law in 1972, he was only 15 years old.
