Willie Revillame Expresses Reactions to Presidential Bid Withdrawal of Bong Go

TV host Willie Revillame expresses his reactions towards the presidential candidacy withdrawal of Senator Christopher “Bong” Go.

Revillame thanked the Senator for his assistance during his ‘Wowowin’ program. Because of Go’s assistance, the host’s show was able to continue, according to Revillame.

Revillame thanked Go but also underlined the apparent schism between Go’s team and that of vice presidential candidate and Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte. Inday Sara backed former senator Bongbong Marcos to support the presidency over Go, who was chosen by his father, President Rodrigo Duterte.

“Tama ka, nu’ng nag-uusap tayo, ang hirap ng sitwasyon mo. Kinakampanya ka ng tatay, iba naman ang kinakampanya ng anak. Saludo ako sa naging desisyon mo. God bless you,” said Revillame.

It should be remembered that if Go ran for president again, he would have received support from the television show. It also inspired Inday Sara to team up with Go.

“Nagkausap kami ni Mayor Sara kahapon ng almost one hour, sabi ko lang ‘dapat maayos ang lahat para sumaya ang bansang Pilipinas dapat maging isang pamilya’ kasi kapag nakakakita ka ng magulo diba napu-frustrate ang bawat Pilipino,”Revillame said.

So far, Go has not filed a formal withdrawal. Meanwhile, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) underlined that Go’s resignation is completely voluntary, thus there is no substitute. Travel would have to physically go to the Comelec headquarters to withdraw his candidacy, according to Comelec.

Because it is a holiday and the 158th anniversary of the hero Andres Bonifacio’s birth, Go will be unable to visit their office on Tuesday, November 30. The Law Department does not have the authority to accept any files today because it is a holiday.
