PDP-Laban Exec Praying For Go To Continue Running For President In 2022
PDP-LABAN PRAYING – After Senator Bong Go announced his withdrawal, PDP-Laban exec Melvin Matibag said he hoped Go would take it back.
After much thought, Senator Go, despite being pushed by President Rodrigo Duterte himself to run, decided to back out from the race. According to Go, many, including his family are thinking of his well-being.
Furthermore, he said that it wasn’t his time to lead the country. Additionally, the Senator said that he doesn’t want to give problems to Duterte.
However, PDP-Laban (Cusi Faction) still believes that Go is the best bet for the 2022 presidential elections. According to the party’s secretary-general Melvin Matibag, the Cusi faction could not think of a better candidate to endorse.
According to an article from CNN, he said:
I will be honest with you that until now I am praying for a miracle that he will continue. Nakaabang pa rin naman po tayo dahil officially hindi pa naman siya nagwi-withdraw
Meanwhile, Matibag said that if Go pushes through with his plans, the party would then decide a new set of “standards” for choosing their next presidential bet. This would include the candidate’s principles and how they coincide with PDP-Laban.
Senator Go filed his candidacy under the PDDS or Pederalismo ng Dugong Dakilang Samahan Alliance, an allied party of the PDP-Laban to avoid complications between the two factions.
