NTF Tells Public Bring Face Shields Outside As Establishments May Require It
BRING FACE SHIELDS OUTSIDE – The National Task Force on COVID-19 told the public to carry their face shields with them when going outside.
Earlier, President Rodrigo Duterte said Face Shields are simply optional. However, this only applies in areas under Alert Level 2 or lower. Still, many were ecstatic to finally be free from the plastic visor after almost two years.
But, the NTF said the public should still remain “conscious” amid the lowered restrictions. According to an article from ABS-CBN, NTF spox Restituto Padilla said:
Following Duterte’s announcement, acting presidential spokesperson Karlo Nograles said some establishments may still require the use of face shields. Meanwhile, Padilla reminded the public that if a stall requires using face shields they shouldn’t emulate hate.
Previously, authorities and experts highlighted how face shields offer redundant protection as masks are already in use. Still, the Philippines became among the only countries requiring the use of face shields.
