The PNR station reported the disappearance of 1,015 pieces of angle bars hidden in the DOTC Telecommunication Office constructed stock room on Thursday night, according to the investigation. However, according to the Lucena PNP’s investigation, there is no evidence that the steel was taken.

According to the investigation, it’s probable that an inside job took place or that the accounting was done on purpose. The missing steels were valued at P1,353,329.95 in the inventory released by Russel Pagkaliwanagan, OIC Division Manager of the Lucena PNR Engineering Department.

Authorities are still looking over Enlightenment’s paperwork to see if the allegations that the steels were stolen are genuine. Meanwhile, authorities in Manila apprehended a man who was found stealing steel from the NLEX-SLEX connector road being built.

Barangay officials in Sampaloc, Manila, nabbed the criminal for reportedly taking steel with the help of a child. The suspect disputed the theft, claiming that the steel was given to him for free by the claimed construction site’s contractor. The suspect, however, was referring to a warehouseman rather than a contractor, according to the barangay official.
