Davao Occidental Hit by Earthquake with 4.1 Magnitude
EARTHQUAKE – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded a 4.1 magnitude quake in Davao Occidental, November 16, 2021.
Most of the time, quakes hit with no prior signs. Recently, several places in and out of the Philippines were shaken by quakes of different magnitudes.
Previously, in April 22, Phivolcs recorded a quake in a part of Zambales. It had a magnitude of 6.1. Strong shaking was felt leaving people fearing about the so-called “Big One“. But the agency advises the people to wait for factual information and not to panic.
Recently, a quake has hit a part of Davao Occidental, November 16, 2021. At 12:34 p.m., Sarangani Island was hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.1.
According to Phivolcs, the quake that hit a part of Davao Occidental was located at 05.19°North, 126.42°East – 109 km South 73° East of Sarangani Island with a depth of origin of 012 kilometers.
Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that no damage is expected of the said quake and as well as aftershocks. As of this writing, no intensity was recorded of the said quake at its epicenter and the nearby areas.
