Authorities received a complaint against the suspects prior to the entrapment operation regarding a “basag kotse” event in Cainta, Rizal, in which the victim’s laptop and cellphone were stolen. In exchange for the stolen items, the suspects allegedly tried to extort money from the victim.

Pasig Police performed an entrapment operation in response to the report. To settle their business, the suspects initially met at a fast-food restaurant in San Joaquin, Pasig. They later changed their minds and sent the victim to a different fast food outlet in Pasig’s Barangay Rosario.

The suspects then changed their thoughts and told the victim to go to a chicken eatery in Pasig’s Barangay Ugong. The suspects were apprehended by police and charged with robbery-extortion.

Meanwhile, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) officials have arrested a pair for extorting money from a male victim after he was photographed with another lady in a motel room. The two were found guilty of extorting and blackmailing a vulnerable guy.

After the alleged complainant handed over the P20,000 marked money to the accused, the authorities detained the pair. During his arrest, the suspect attempted to resist the officers and rejected the claims.
