Is it true that the camp of Robredo has something to do with the petition against the candidacy of Marcos?
Vice President Leni Robredo has this reaction when asked about the alleged involvement of her camp in the disqualification case filed against presidential aspirant Bongbong Marcos.
The petition against the candidacy of Marcos was filed by representatives from different party list groups and their reason for this was the “tax violations” that he committed.
In a previous statement, Marcos said that he is unfazed by this as he said that he will continue his presidential candidacy. His camp also said that this kind of tactic is just a “predictable nuisance”.
During her caravan in Bacolod on November 5, based on the report from GMA, Robredo was asked about the insinuation that her camp is behind the disqualification case against her opponent. The Vice President that the accusation does not make sense as he could have done it already in 2016.
She and Marcos vied for the vice presidential position back then. The VP stressed that she already won. “Naglaban na kami noong 2016, nanalo naman kami na walang ganyan. So sa akin, I cannot comment further on that kasi may pending case and bawal siyang pag-usapan, pero huwag kaming ituro. Kasi hindi kami ganyan lumaban,” she said.
Meanwhile, during the same press conference in Bacolod City, the VP reiterated that she and her running mate Senator Kiko Pangilinan will not be using the privilege of substitution. The politician who is holding the second highest position in the government also stressed that they will continue their candidacy to the very end.
She also thanked the people in the capital city of Negros Occidental and the whole province who showed support for her and Pangilinan.
