Sampaloc Police Arrests Leader of “Ipit Gang” Responsible for Victimizing Bus Passengers
The police authorities have arrested the leader of alleged “Ipit Gang” that allegedly victimizes bus passengers.
Sampaloc police were able to arrest two of the most wanted personalities in the area. The cops arrested the suspect identified as Erwin De Luna who is at large over robbery charges and being the leader of “ipit” gang,
Sampaloc Police Warrant Section Chief P/Lt. Joseph Villafranca said that the gang is victimizing newly-arrived passengers inside buses. The suspects were distracting the attention of their victims to perform their illegal activity.
“Papasok sila sa mga bus, usually dyan yung mga pasakay papalibutan nila yan meron sa harap meron sa likod tapos lalansihin nila yung isa babangain nila kakalabitin nila tapos pag-nalingat nay un dudukutin na,” Villafranca said.
The cops have arrested three out of four members and discovered that the group has been formed in 2008 while victimizing some audience at a concert.
De Luna explained that he had no choice but to commit robbery due to extreme poverty. “Napasama lang po ma’am, dala ng pangangailangan po,” the suspect said.

Another suspect named Alvin Reyes has been arrested by the Sampaloc Police. Reyes is a notorious “akyat Bahay” in Sampaloc, Manila. The police reiterated that the complainants usually withdrew the case against the suspects.
The cops also said that some notorious personalities were able to obtain freedom after paying bail.
