SARA DUTERTE – Senator Imee Marcos claimed that the Davao City Mayor was the one who convinced former Sen. Bongbong Marcos to run for president.

The period set by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) for the filing of candidacy for Election 2022 is over but substitutions may still take place until November 15, 2021. According to the poll body, there is a total of 97 presidential aspirants for next year’s bid.

One of those who filed his candidacy for president in 2022 is the late former president’s son and former Senator Bongbong Marcos. He has yet to decide on his running mate for the next election.

There are calls for presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte and former Sen. Bongbong Marcos to run as a tandem in the Election 2022. The presidential daughter is one of those names in survey results for possible presidential candidates next year but she maintains her stand that she won’t run for the highest position in the government next year.

Mayor Inday Sara filed for re-election as Davao City Mayor. She previously asked understanding from her supporters as she wants to finish her last term in her hometown.

Recently, amid the calls for Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte and former Sen. Bongbong Marcos to be a tandem in next year’s election, Sen. Imee Marcos made a revelation about the two (2) politicians. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Marcos Jr.’s sister claimed that it was the Davao City Mayor who convinced her brother to run for president.

Mayor Sara Duterte and former Sen. Bongbong Marcos recently met in Cebu when they attended the same event. It ignited the calls and speculations that they will be running as a tandem.
