Last October 23, 2021, the much-awaited wedding of celebrity couple Tom Rodriguez and Carla Abellana has finally taken place. The Kapuso stars officially tied the knot in an intimate church wedding that gathered their family and friends including several fellow celebrities.
Tom and Carla were in a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship since 2014. They started as on-screen partners when they top-billed the GMA-7 romance television series My Husband’s Lover. Then, their relationship was purely co-actors who turned to friends in the industry.
After My Husband’s Lover, Carla Abellana and Tom Rodriguez were again given lead roles by the Kapuso network. They top-billed another romance drama TV series, My Destiny. It was where a beautiful romantic relationship started between the two celebrities.
Carla and Tom are each other’s company amid the COVID-19 pandemic. It was just recently when they had to separate for several months as they did different projects. The Kapuso actor had to be in a lock-in taping for the romance TV series The World Between Us while the actress was in a lock-in taping for another Kapuso TV series, To Have and To Hold.
Last March, Tom and Carla revealed that they are officially engaged. The actor proposed for marriage to his then longtime girlfriend in October 2020 but they have kept it for a while. The engagement took place at the house of the actress’ mother.
Tom and Carla faced a lot of challenges in the wedding preparation. In his vow, the actor has mentioned that there were even times when they thought the wedding will not push through on their target date. Meanwhile, all things worked out and they were able to brave the challenges that the current situation is bringing.
