They took the elevator to the second story, where the bar was located. Even though it was dark and there was little light coming in from outside the pub, the door opened and remained open far past midnight.

The authorities were informed about the bar, which had both Filipino and foreign clientele. Many infractions were observed at the bar, according to Renato Escotido, Chief for Operations of the Makati PSD Security Service.

Under Alert Level 3, limited dine-in is now permitted, although congestion is still prohibited, and a curfew remains in effect. He also claimed that the pub lacked an authorization to operate.

“Makikita puno ang loob. ‘Yung mga lumabag sa violation na aktong nandiyan, pumasok sila sa violation sa curfew at social distancing, city ordinance at napag-alaman namin na ‘yung bar walang permit,” said Escotido.

Around 200 people were detained by authorities. They took their identification and were required to pay a fee at City Hall. Another foreigner reportedly became enraged because he was unable to produce identification and the officials refused to release him.
