Male Teenager Passes Away Due to Serious Injury After Joining Riot in Tondo, Manila

A male teenager has passed away after suffering a serious injury from pen gun during a “Riot” in Barangay 252, Tondo, Manila.

The Facebook page “GMA News” has shared the video footage of riot between group of teenagers along Barangay 252, Tondo, Manila. The video footage garnered various reactions from the online community.

In the video, it can be seen that a group of male teenagers are roaming along the road amid the curfew hours. The teens are carrying weapons while waiting for their foes. After a few moments, the other group arrived and shot a 14-year-old boy.

The victim suffers serious injuries and left pummeling on the ground. The other group withdraw and immediately escape after the incident. One of the suspects returned and repeatedly hit the victim with a wooden stick.

The CCTV footage in Abad Santos Avenue in Manila caught the incident last October 14, 2021 (Thursday). The victim has been rushed to the hospital but eventually passed away because of his injuries.

The police authorities arrest a 19-year-old guy named John Caide Romera who was spectating in the area. The guy denied his involvement on the riot and he was just watching the commotion.

The barangay official said that watchmen are roaming around the village to maintain the peace and order but the teenagers are still finding a way to do what they want.

“Yung curfew dito kasi talagang pinapatupad namin, minsan nga lang hindi nga lang din maano yung mga kabataan kasi mga ano na rin sila na nag-aaway away,” barangay kagawad Maje Salenga said.
