Jake Cuenca Finally Breaks Silence on Controversial Police Car Chase Incident in Mandaluyong City
JAKE CUENCA – Actor Jake Cuenca finally broke his silence following his involvement in a controversial police car chase on October 9.
On October 9, Kapamilya actor Jake Cuenca got involved in a police car chase. His black Jeep Wrangler allegedly hit a police vehicle in Mandaluyong City.
Eastern Police District (EPD) director Police Brigadier General Matthew Bacay said the cops were on an anti-drug mission when the actor’s sports utility vehicle (SUV) allegedly hit one of their vehicles. Jake’s car did not stop, prompting police to give chase.
Bacay said the cops started shooting Jake Cuenca’s SUV to disable it, unfortunately, one of the shots fired hit a Grab driver. The police car chase ended on Shaw Boulevard in Pasig City.
For the first time, Jake Cuenca airs his side of the story following his involvement in a police car chase in Mandaluyong. Speaking to ABS-CBN’s reporter, MJ Felipe, he opened up about the incident.
The 33-year-old celebrity said he’s on his way to Paulo Avelino’s house. Paulo also confirmed that Jake was headed to his house.
“When I have civilians flagging down my car, armed civilians flagging down my car with unmarked vehicles, my instinct talaga was to not stop, just to go forward, to just get away from trouble,” Jake said.
Jake Cuenca felt that the cops were actually aiming at him during the car chase. He also admitted that he was traumatized by what happened especially and that there were several bullet wounds that were allegedly close to the fuel of his SUV.
“For me, [at] that moment, I was thinking… I was fearing for my life.”
The actor further clarified that he has not been arrested and he did not hit anyone with his SUV. The cops inspected his car twice and did not find anything illegal in it. He also said that he will help the Grab driver who was hit by a stray bullet.
