And among those who are encouraged to run is Willie Revillame, a famous host known not just for his talent and humor but also for his generous and kind heart. In a previous article, he expressed that he doesn’t have any final decisions yet about his plan in entering politics. But just a day before the deadline of the filing of COC, he announced that he is not running anymore. He refused to seek an elective post.

He was initially a part of the initial lineup that President Duterte has considered because of his connection to the public. In his TV show, he aired that he is not knowledgeable enough of laws and making laws which is one of the reasons why he denied offers. He also said that he is not good at speaking English and already thought that the vote of the people will only go to waste because he doesn’t have the capacity yet to become a good politician.

“Hindi ko po kailangan kumandidato. Hindi ko po kailangan manalo. Ang kailangan ko ay makasama kayo. Dahil sa puso ko, sa isip ko, dapat laging ang mga Pilipino ang panalo,” he said. He expressed that he does not need any government position to serve the people and vowed that he will still help through his show according to report from ABS-CBN.
