PAGASA Raises Signal No. 1 in 23 Areas Due to Tropical Depression Lannie

PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Monday (October 4)

The state weather bureau PAGASA has raised signal no. 1 in 23 areas due to the inclement weather condition brought by Tropical Depression Lannie.

On Monday (October 4, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The Tropical Depression Lannie would affect the country’s weather condition.

Tropical Depression Lannie has been last spotted at 100 kilometers east of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte at 4 am. It has maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 55 kph.

Lannie would bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Aurora province, Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon.

The tropical cyclone is also expected to bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers over the provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Benguet, Apayao, Abra, Kalinga, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan.

Rains and gusty winds are also expected over the entire Visayas, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan including Kalayaan Islands.

PAGASA also raised Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1  in 23 areas due to the effects of the weather system:

  • Southern portion of Masbate
  • Southern portion of Romblon
  • Southern portion of Occidental Mindoro
  • Northern portion of Palawan
  • Eastern Samar
  • Samar
  • Biliran
  • Leyte
  • Southern Leyte
  • Capiz
  • Iloilo
  • Guimaras
  • Antique
  • Aklan
  • Negros Occidental
  • Northern and central portions of Negros Oriental 
  • Cebu
  • Bohol
  • Dinagat Islands
  • Surigao del Norte
  • Northern portion of Agusan del Norte
  • Northern portion of Agusan del Sur

The weather agency advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods and rain-induced landslides.

Lannie is expected to develop into a tropical storm by Wednesday afternoon (October 6, 2021).
