This can be noticed in the boxing retirement video of Manny Pacquiao
Boxer-turned-politician Manny Pacquiao did not mention politician-businessman Chavit Singson in the video announcing his boxing retirement.
On September 29, the Senator released a video that highlighted his boxing career. That announcement of his retirement from boxing also became a way of showing his gratitude to all the people who accompanied him in his journey. However, it can be noticed that the lawmaker did not mention Chavit Singson.
It is known to many that the wealthy businessman has been supporting the boxing career of Manny Pacquiao. Based on the article in PEP, many people also wondered why Singsong did not show support for PacMan during his fight against Cuban boxer Yordenis Ugas last August.
It was said that before the said boxing match in Las Vegas, Singson spoke about his “hidwaan” with Pacquiao. “First time kong di nanood, dahil sa paglaglag niya sa akin na wala sa lugar,” the wealthy businessman said in an interview. This statement came after the Senator expressed that he wants to raise the tax coming from tobacco.
Singson is against it as it is the main livelihood of people in Ilocos. The Narvacan mayor also said that the Senator should study first. For Pacquiao, tobacco is a vice, and the prices of basic necessities such as rice and other food products should not go up.
Chavit Singson expressed anger towards the people who are allegedly urging Manny Pacquiao to stay away from him because of the Senator’s political plan in 2022. “Sinulsulan kasi ng mga bagong handler na media na, ‘Ipakita mo na di ka ma-control ng ibang tao.’ Ako ang ginamit na sampol” the businessman said.
Singson added that he used to give his full support for Pacquiao but this is not the same case now. “Pero ngayong tinapon ako. Alangan ipagpilitan ko pa sarili ko?” he said.
