Here is the list of personalities and groups that filed their certificates of candidacy (COC) for the 2022 national elections.

On Friday (October 1, 2021), the Commission on Elections has finally opened the official election season. The agency has already allowed the aspiring national candidates to file their certificates of candidacy.

Comelec reported that Deputy Speaker and Antique Rep. Loren Legarda is the earliest personality to lodge a COC. Legarda arrived at the Harbor Garden Tent at Sofitel hotel in Pasay City around 8:00 am.

2022 National Elections

After an hour, Buhay Partylist Rep. Lito Atienza and Senator Manny Pacquiao arrived and filed their candidacy. Pacquiao bid for president while Atienza will run for vice president for next year’s election.

The two politicians would run under the alliance of PDP-Laban and PROMDI. Sorsogon Gov. Francis “Chiz” Escudero and Senator Risa Hontiveros have officially announced their return at the Senate.

The filing of certificates of candidacy will be available from October 1-8, 2021, according to the Commission on Elections.
