Here’s a story from Carlo Aquino about his supposed role in the hit South Korean series “Squid Game”.
CARLO AQUINO – Famous actor Carlo Aquino reveals his supposed role in Squid Game if only he got allowed to travel to South Korea to shoot.
“Squid Game” is currently the most trending South Korean series and the story is about 456 players who are desperately indebted. The one who will come out as the winner after finishing six games successfully and alive will take home a hefty amount that is more than enough to pay their debts. The hits series is written and directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk and it has nine heart-wrenching and nerve-wracking episodes.
And in a previous article, Filipino actor Carlo Aquino was supposed to be a part of it but due to travel restrictions because of the COVID-19 situation, he was not able to go to Korea to shoot. And now, narrating his feeling after such a big opportunity has slipped off his hands, he expressed that he’s “hinayang na hinayang” considering the positive feedback about the thriller series.
“Siyempre trending ‘yung ‘Squid Game.’ At saka ang galing na makagawa ka ng istorya na nasa isang malaking-malaking warehouse lang ‘yung shoot pero sobrang engaging nung series,” he admitted.
He added that he will supposedly play the character of Abdul Ali portrayed by Anupam Tripathi. Ali is a foreign worker from Pakistan who joined the game to feed his family after his employer denied giving him his salary for months. He didn’t know that the script sent to him was for “Squid Game” and only realized it later on when he started to watch it.
The actor heard the familiar lines in the series that are similar to the script that was given to him. He added, “Kaya ‘di siguro ako natuloy kasi nagkaroon ng lockdown sa Korea at ayaw nila magpapasok. ‘Yung mga available artists na nandon sa Korea ‘yung pinili nila.”
