2 Notorious Carnappers Suspects of Rent-Tangay Modus in Quezon City Arrested
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) arrested two (2) notorious carnappers who are suspects for “rent-tangay” modus in Quezon City.
The accused suspects’ business modus is to rent cars, then take them away and sell them in Quezon City. The arrested were identified as Angelica Daskeo, 29, and Genesis Ramos, 33, according to the QCPD.
The Novaliches Police Station (PS 4) said an entrapment operation was initiated in the SM Novaliches parking lot, Quirino Highway, Brgy. San Bartolome, Novaliches, Q.C. During the deal, a police officer stood up and claimed to buy the vehicle.

The accused allegedly sold a used Toyota Vios for P120,000 as an initial down payment, with the remainder due when the vehicle documents were given. However, the owner of the Toyota Vios, monitored it via GPS and informed the victim that the vehicle was just rented and had not been returned.
The victim quickly contacted the QCPD after seeing on Facebook Marketplace that the suspects were selling a Mazda 3, which he claimed was similar to the Toyota Vios he had purchased. The owner of Mazda 3 appeared on the QCPD PS 4 and claimed to be the genuine owner, adding that the car was rented and never returned.
Meanwhile, the Batasan Police Station (PS6) has apprehended the leader and financer of another infamous kidnapping group that operates in Quezon City and San Jose Del Monte City, Bulacan.
Patrick De Guzman, the leader of the “Mandani Carnapping Group,” was named as the suspect. The suspect was apprehended after the victim requested assistance from the authorities over the stolen Suzuki Rider FU150 MFX with license plate 641PTX,
The two gangs were seized with six motorcycles and six automobiles. The accused have been arrested and charged with violating RA 10883 (Anti-Carnapping Law).
