The infomercial that Isko Moreno released caught the attention of political experts
Manila Mayor Isko Moreno garnered praises from political experts because of the political ad he released prior to the announcement of his presidential candidacy in the 2022 elections.
Yorme, as what he is fondly called, showed his rags to riches story in a one-minute video. It featured his past speech wearing his toga and he was encouraging that whatever he has achieved can be achieved by others as well through hard work.
In the video, people from different walks of life are mimicking his words. “Keep on trying. Wala namang mawawala sa atin. Kung nangyari sa akin, puwede rin sa inyo. Wala namang imposible,” the Manila Mayor said. .
Based on the article in ABS-CBN News, Professor Jean Franco, a political analyst from the University of the Philippines, said that Mayor Isko Moreno highlighted how vital education is while answering the criticisms against him.
Atty. Tony La Viña, former dean of the Manila-based Ateneo School of Government, said that it is indeed a clever advertisement because the mayor was already able to attack, defend, and showed positivity in just one infomercial.
Entertainment columnist Jun Nardo mentioned in his recent article in Pang-Masa that the people behind this “brilliant” political ad of Moreno are former employees of the Kapamilya network.
“Mga dating nagtatrabaho sa ABS-CBN ang nasa likod ng infomercial ni Yormer Isko Moreno na umeere sa telebisyon bago ang kanyang deklarasyon sa kandidatura niya bilang Presidente ng bansa sa 2022,” the columnist said.
Meanwhile, a recent report stated that the Manila Mayor is going to sign the ABS-CBN franchise if he will win the presidential race next year. Doctor Willie Ong is his running mate in the 2022 election but his campaign manager admitted that his first choice for Vice President was Senator Grace Poe.
